Dog Dies in Northwest Reno Garage Fire

RENO, NV - Fire crews have put out a northwest Reno house fire.

Crews tell us the fire on McGee Drive broke out around 4:30 Friday morning. It took crews about a half hour to knock it down.

The fire was contained to the garage, which is a total loss. However, the rest of home did suffer some smoke damage.

Two people lived in the home with three dogs; one of the dogs died from the smoke. The couple staying in the home was renting.

The fire is being investigated to determine the cause.

No other homes or property were damaged.
