Detectives Search for Man Who Robbed Bank of the West

PLACER COUNTY, CALIFORNIA - Detectives from the Placer County Sheriff's Office are searching for the person wanted in connection with the armed robbery at Bank of the West in Kings Beach.

At 10:30 a.m. on August 23, 2013, units responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Bank of the West located at 200 Bear Street.

An older white male showed the teller a note and then produced a black handgun, according to an official with the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

The robber left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber was wearing a gray baseball cap, black sunglasses, a gray sweater, and black jeans, according to an official with the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

There is no vehicle description at this time.

At the moment, this robber is not being connected to the person who robbed the El Dorado Savings and Loan.
