Some local kids in need are getting a new pair of jeans, thanks to all of you who generously donated to the Denim Drive.
Volunteers with the Reno Rodeo Foundation took all that money and headed to JC Penny, buying almost a hundred and fifty pairs of boys' and girls' jeans, and plenty of brand new socks and underwear.
The items will go to benefit abused and neglected children who have been taken out of unsafe homes.
"It's great we can give them new clothes, it gives them a lot of confidence. And it just lets them know that people in the community really care about them at a time when they're facing significant adversity," said Marie Baxter, the Executive Director of the Reno Rodeo Foundation.
The shoppers say they're always on the look out for denim sales. They spent just $13 for each pair of jeans they got on Tuesday.
