RENO, Nev. -- The ominous clouds to the west of the Truckee Meadows are indications of the storms we can expect across northern Nevada in the coming week.
While Saturday started with sunshine, by mid-afternoon, darker clouds rolled in and people around the area began reporting lightning strikes.
KOLO 8 News Now's Dick Stoddard says Saturday's weather activity is dangerous due to potential dry lighting fire starts. In addition to the arid conditions and electrical storms, the accompanying winds in the area of the lightning and thunder storms could prove even more troublesome should any fires start.
The chance of scattered isolated showers is likely from now through Wednesday.
