Hit-and-Run Driver Sought; Account Set Up to Help Family

SPARKS, Nev. - Sparks police are still looking for the driver who hit a motorcyclist, then drove off.

Shortly before 3PM on July 5, the biker was hit on McCarran, just south of Greg Street near the Truckee River. He was thrown from the bike and taken to a hospital, where he's still being treated for serious injuries.

Witnesses say the car is a newer model reddish Ford Taurus, maybe with a short driver. The crash happened on northbound McCarran, with the driver turning east on Greg and speeding off.

The family of the victim, Craig McCauley, has set up a donation account at Wells Fargo Bank to help with expenses while he is out of work. The account is titled "Donation for Craig McCauley" and the Wells Fargo account number is 6837605168.
