Convict from Washoe County Dies in Vegas Hospital

LAS VEGAS, NV - A man who had served prison time from Washoe County has died in a Las Vegas hospital, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine how he died.

Martin Lomas was in prison in southern Nevada and was hospitalized Friday, January 3 for an undisclosed medical condition. He died Sunday at Valley Hospital.

The 56-year-old Lomas had been serving time from Washoe County for Sexual Assault and Kidnapping. He had been sentenced to five years to life with the possibility of parole. He was released, but was readmitted to prison and released on parole several times, last returning in November 2013 following a parole violation and an arrest in North Las Vegas for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Failure to Obey Laws Regarding Sex Offender registration.
