RENO, NV - As part of a Customer Service Appreciation Event, Mercedes owners will be allowed to take advantage of the complimentary installation of 'Rescue Assist'.
Mercedes-Benz of Reno says on Saturday, May 17, 2014, Mercedes owners can visit Mercedes-Benz of Reno from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. to receive this technology.
Rescue Assist will be installed in 1990 to 2014 Mercedes-Benz cars, according to Mercedes-Benz of Reno. They say the clinic will also offer a complimentary 27-point vehicle inspection, adjust the tire pressure, and top off the cars' fluids.
Rescue Assist is the use of QR codes to help passengers and first responders stay safe in the event of an accident, according to Mercedes-Benz of Reno. The company says Rescue Assist works by scanning a unique QR code placed inside the car. A schematic will open to structural view of the car; this tells the first responder where fuel lines, electrical systems and other key structures are located in order to avoid them, according to Mercedes-Benz of Reno.
“Mercedes owners in the community should take advantage of this opportunity, because anything that saves us time can help us save lives,” said Reno Fire Chief Michael Hernandez.
