RENO, NV - The Reno City Council Wednesday hired State Budget Director Andrew Clinger as its next City Manager.
Six council members voted in favor of Clinger's hiring. Councilwoman Sharon Zadra did not vote, saying the hiring process was a little too short for her.
Contract details are still being worked out, but Councilman Dave Aiazzi proposed a salary for Clinger at $206,000 minus a 7.5 percent pay cut. Clinger, 41, has been state budget director for more than five years. He is also a UNR graduate and a Carson City native.
Clinger is expected to be on the job the day after the end of the legislative session, which is set to end June 6.
