BORDERTOWN, NV - A Reno woman is in custody after a chase that stretched from Carson City to Bordertown.

NHP Trooper Dave Gibson says after a woman in a pickup rear-ended a sedan in Carson City around 9:30AM Tuesday, troopers chased the pickup through Reno and put down spike strips near the Nevada/California border. The driver flattened her tires moving across the strip, but still drove about two miles north before stopping. The chase reached speeds up to 85 miles per hour.

Since the stop was in California, CHP made the arrest, saying it may be a DUI charge, plus eluding. NHP will file charges related to the hit-and-run and eluding, plus reckless driving.

The arrested driver is 53-year-old Melanie Marnne-Lawson.
