CARSON CITY, NV - A man wanted in connection with a case of elder exploitation from Carson City has been found dead, having apparently killed himself.

A car belonging to 64-year-old Ronnal Chancellor was found Friday morning at a hotel near the airport in Ontario, California. He was wanted for stealing $50,000 from a Carson City woman he had told he wanted to marry. Police in Ontario told Carson City investigators Chancellor was found dead Friday afternoon in his hotel room, believed to have shot himself with a handgun taken in a Carson City burglary.

The apparent suicide happened after negotiations with a SWAT team Friday afternoon after he had barricaded himself inside his hotel room.

Carson Sheriff Ken Furlong says his department is working closely with the Ontario Police Department on this case.
