Carson Deputies Still Looking for Missing Insurance Examiner

CARSON CITY, NV - Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says he believes a man who is missing has most likely met foul play.

About 8:30AM Thursday, deputies were asked to do a welfare check at the man's apartment on Silver Oak Drive, because 62-year-old William McCune didn't report for work and didn't make a scheduled work-related flight. When deputies got there, they found blood and evidence of a struggle.

Detectives have contacted local hospitals and detention centers and have not been able to locate McCune. One of two vehicles registered to him was located nearby, but the second, a 2000 maroon Dodge pickup with tinted windows, Nevada license plate 769XTL, could not be found. An air search is underway to try and find that pickup.

McCune is employed by the state of Nevada insurance division as a chief examiner. He is 5'9' and bald with blue eyes.

The Sheriff’s Office has secured the area as a crime scene. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 283-7851, or the Sheriff’s Communications Center at 887-2013.
