RENO, Nev. -- Carson City Sheriff's Search and Rescue personnel found a wrapped body in the Carson River just south of Carson River Road at about 8:10 Saturday morning.
Investigators took the body to the Washoe County Medical Examiners office. An autopsy is pending, and identification of the body will be made at that time.
Meantime, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong reports officers arrested four people in connection with the disappearance of insurance examiner William McCune.
Co-workers reported McCune missing Thursday morning when he missed a work-related flight. The deputy who conducted a "welfare check" at McCune's home requested help from detectives because of large amounts of blood and obvious signs of a struggle.
Sheriff Furlong reports information gathered during the investigation led to an operation Friday evening involving locations in both Carson City and Las Vegas.
Early on Saturday, law enforcement officers arrested four people, one in Carson City and three in Las Vegas.
"All of the suspects are very young, and that's a real tragic thing," Sheriff Furlong said.
A 23-year-old man, Michael Paul Evans was arrested in Carson City. He faces the following charges: Murder, Battery with a Deadly Weapon Causing Substantial Bodily Harm, Burglary, and Murder of an Older Person.
Officers arrested 20-year-old Makyla L. Blackmore and 22-year-old Raul Garcia on the Las Vegas Strip. They each face Burglary charges.
Anthony Elliot, 20, was also arrested on the Strip. He faces Murder charges.
The arrest warrants for Blackmore, Garcia, and Elliot were issued out of Carson City and officials expect all three to be transported back to Carson City within the week.
Meantime, investigators are still collecting evidence collected from McCune's home. That process is expected to be completed next week.
Sheriff Furlong emphasizes despite four people being arrested, the investigation is still open and asks anyone who has more information to call the Carson City Sheriff's office at (7750 887-2500.
"I hope we are able to put some information together [for the public] soon because I understand that reason 'why' is part of the healing process," Sheriff Furlong said.
