CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A Carson City man has been charged with second-degree murder in the October 2011 heroin-related death of a woman.
Prosecutors this week filed the charge against 21-year-old Angel Altamirano, who already was in the Carson City jail on drug-related charges.
The Nevada Appeal reports Altamirano is accused of providing heroin to Brittany Rubke, and failing to render or seek medical assistance for her in a timely manner.
According to court documents, she had an adverse reaction that led to her death, but it's unknown whether she overdosed or not.
It's also unknown whether the heroin was given or sold to her.
Altamirano's bail on the murder charge was set at $100,000.
