CARSON CITY, NV - Northern Nevada police agencies are still on the lookout for a man who escaped from the Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City Tuesday night.

The Nevada Department of Corrections says 36-year-old James McDowell was serving 15 to 48 months from Washoe County for Grand Larceny of Motor Vehicle. He had been incarcerated with the NDOC since May 9, 2014.

If you have information about where he is, please call local police.

At least one sighting already has not panned out; a park ranger in Genoa thought he saw the inmate Wednesday, but Douglas county deputies found no trace of him when they did a search.

McDowell is about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.

The camp holds inmates assigned to wildfire crews and the prison ranch, dairy and wild horse training program.
