Butcher Boy Back With Online Sales

RENO, NV - Butcher Boy Meats is back in Reno, but not with a brick-and-mortar store. Ken and Clint Jolly are starting to sell a small selection of their specialty meats online.

“We are starting small, hand picking our customers’ favorite items and doing them just right,” says Clint Jolly, who started working in the family business as a teenager. “We’ve stripped away all of the distractions that we once had to focus on finding the best of the best in all natural meats.”

Through the summer, customers will also find the Jolly family and Butcher Boy at area farmers' markets. Items can be pre-ordered online, link below, and customers can arrange for pickup at the markets or for home delivery.

Marinated tri-tips, handmade sausages and stuffed pork chops round out the early selection. Seasonal and weekly specials will be added as the season progresses. Ken Jolly says “We are working with local ranchers to bring in specialty items that aren’t available anywhere else.”

The Jolly family opened Butcher Boy in 1974 on Rock Boulevard in Sparks. In 2007, Butcher Boy Prime was opened in Reno with the addition of a restaurant and banquet facilities. After a year of Chapter 11 reorganization proceedings, the business was liquidated in 2009.

The first market of the season for Butcher Boy will be at The Summit Mall on Mother’s Day, May 12th from 10am-3pm. They are also planning on selling at the Sparks Hometown Farmers' Market on Thursdays starting June 6th.
