Burton Goes Undrafted, Invited to NBA Summer League

RENO - Former Wolf Pack point guard Deonte Burton did not get selected in Thursday's NBA Draft, but he's still getting a shot with an NBA team.

Burton has been invited to play with the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League down in Las Vegas.

He confirmed the news on his Twitter page, writing "Summer league here I come!" followed by "Washington wizards It is #prayfortheotherteams."

Burton was a first team All-Mountain West Conference selection as a senior, averaging 20.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game last season.

He had worked out for 15 teams leading up to the draft, and was projected as a possible second round pick by several basketball writers.

The Las Vegas Summer League begins on July 11th.
