FERNLEY, NV - Lyon County sheriff's deputies have arrested a burglary suspect they say led them on a chase.

About 4AM Thursday, a Lyon deputy assigned to the Fernley area saw a man on a motorcycle at a parking lot in east Fernley. The deputy recognized the motorcyclist as a suspect in a recent burglary. The subject, later identified as 27-year-old Troy Nelson of Silver Springs, spotted the deputy and fled through the parking lot, according to Lyon County.

The deputy spotted the motorcycle on a side street and started chasing the biker. The pursuit ended a short time later after the motorcycle crashed. The deputy apprehended Nelson after a short foot chase.

Nelson was taken to a hospital for treatment of a leg injury after the crash. Once released, Nelson will be booked for Burglary, Eluding, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Nelson also has warrants for burglary, drug possession and domestic battery.
