BORDERTOWN, NV - A brush fire north of Reno, along the California state line west of Bordertown, is fully contained as of Friday afternoon, according to Sierra Front. The goal was containment by Thursday night, but it was moved to Friday. There were incorrect reports that containment was achieved Thursday night.

The Evans Fire burned about 635 acres (downgraded from the earlier estimated 700).

Sierra Front says lightning sparked the fire about 5:45PM Tuesday, July 15. It burned grass and brush west of Highway 395 in the Balls Canyon area.

No structures were threatened and no one was hurt.
