Donner Summit, CA, (November 8, 2012) – A cold air mass moving across Donner Summit has allowed Boreal to resume snowmaking operations. Additionally the National Weather Service is predicting 4”-9” of natural snow to fall through Friday, November 9, 2012. According a press release sent out today, if the weather conditions continue as forecasters are predicting, Boreal Mountain Resort intends to resume operations on Saturday, November 10, 2012.
Boreal Mountain has already provided skiing and snowboarding operations beginning on Friday, October 26th. Following six days of operation the resort suspended operations due to warm temperatures. With the current snowfall and cold temperatures Boreal plans to reopen as the only resort in Northern California to offer skiing and snowboarding.
Boreal Mountain Resort will make an official opening announcement on Friday, November 9th following over 24 hours of ideal snowmaking. An announcement regarding operations, hours, lifts and rate will be made on www.rideboreal.com and www.facebook.com/borealmtn. Woodward Tahoe remains on the normal operating schedule of 11am – 8pm daily.
