Bomb Scare in South Lake Tahoe Over

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA - Several residents were evacuated and Highway 50 was closed for several hours after a bomb scare at a Safeway.

South Lake Tahoe police arrived at the Safeway on Johnson Boulevard around 5:15PM Tuesday on a report of a suspicous package nearby. Several residents in the area were evacuated and Lake Tahoe Boulevard/Highway 50 was closed for around three-and-a-half hours.

Police tell KOLO 8 News Now the package was nothing significant, and around 8:30 PM, Highway 50 was opened back up.
