HAWTHORNE, NV - The Mineral County Sheriff's Office says an evacuation has been lifted after finding no evidence of explosives.

Mineral County Sheriff Stewart Handte says all evacuated inmates have been returned to their cells, and the investigation into who made the threat is ongoing. The jail had been evacuated, as had the Mineral County District Courthouse, where the threat was aimed.

Sheriff Handte says the initial threat came in to Secret Witness early Wednesday morning, but the Sheriff's Office was not made aware of the threat until afternoon. He says they are looking in to why it took so long for the Sheriff's Office to be alerted to the threat.
