HALLELUJAH JUNCTION, CA - The Lassen County Coroner's Office has released the name of the driver killed in a truck fire Tuesday. He was 62-year-old Clarence Carpenter of Los Molinas, California.

The Walmart big rig Carpenter was driving went off Highway 395 north of Hallelujah Junction. Carpenter's body was found in the wreckage.

The CHP says the Walmart big rig crashed and caught fire shortly before 8AM. The fire destroyed the truck and most of its contents.

The truck had just left Reno. Though there was rain and snow in the area, troopers say they don't think weather is a factor in why the truck crashed.

That area is so bad because people get in a hurry and try to pass when they can't see oncoming traffic. Been run off the road myself there. Don't know if that is what happened though. Sorry for the family's loss. My only concern about what firefighters got there first is if it was correctly dispatched. I started as a volunteer and many volunteers are ex-professional firefighters. The time is the important thing, they are all trained.

Rib ~ they can't control whether or not there is a like button. It's on EVERYTHING on facebook ~ good, bad, sad or wonderful. Also, no one has control over what ads are visable. Once there happened to be a can show ad right before a video about a shooting death. The people posting stories have no control over the normal FB options. It's not cruel, it's just a fact.
