GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - Douglas County sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a San Francisco businesswoman and socialite who was found dead in a Gardnerville, Nev. apartment.
Authorities say the body of 34-year-old Amber Marie Bently was discovered Friday by a process server who went to serve an eviction notice.
Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Brooks says it appears she had been dead for several weeks. He says no one had reported her missing.
Brooks says there was no evidence of criminal activity or foul play. Cause of death is pending toxicology reports.
Authorities say Bently is the former wife of Minden businessman Christopher Bently.
Gardnerville has a population of about 6,000 and is located 16 miles south of Carson City.
