UPDATE: Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank 400 N. McCarran Blvd. Sparks, NV.
RENO, Nev. -- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sparks Police Department (SPD) officials are joining forces to search for the woman who robbed a bank in Sparks.
It happened just before noon on Saturday, August 3rd at the Wells Fargo at 400 N. McCarran Blvd. in Sparks.
Police say the woman went into the bank, stepped up to a teller and asked to make a withdrawal. That's when she handed the teller a note demanding money and states the woman was armed.
The teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of cash and the woman left through the north doors of the building.
Police describe the woman as "a white female adult, 20-30 years of age, 5’8”, 170-200lbs, wearing a blue sweatshirt, grey sweat pants, black tennis shoes and distinct dirty orange-blonde hair that is shoulder length."
Officials with the FBI and the Washoe County Crime Lab went to the scene to help with the investigation.
A lieutenant with the Reno Police Department (RPD) said investigators tracked down a "person of interest" in Reno, but eventually ruled her out as a suspect.
