BLM Seeks Ideas for Horses in Palomino Valley

RENO, NV - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is offering a workshop for the public to brainstorm ideas for the comfort of the wild horses and burros at the BLM's Palomino Valley National Wild Horse and Burro Center (PVC) preparation and adoption facility.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Reno City Council Chamber at 1 East First Street in Reno, according to the BLM.

The BLM recommends attendees plan on staying for the entire duration of the workshop, due to it including presentations, a discussion and brainstorming on several items.

"Constructive input" from the workshop will be used by the BLM in consideration of providing increased comfort for the animals at the PVC facility, according to the BLM.

Tours of the Palomino Valley Center facility will happen on August 6, prior to the workshop from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.for thirty minutes starting on the half hour, according to the BLM.

The Palomino Valley Center is located about 20 miles north of Reno. From Interstate 80, take Exit 18 (Pyramid Way/State Road 445). PVC is north about 20 miles to Ironwood Road. Turn east (right) on Ironwood Road to reach the facility
