BLM Provides Tips for Target Shooting in Dry Conditions

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Western Nevada Agency would like the public to be aware of the risk of starting a wildfire when target shooting in dry conditions and hot temperatures.

Several wildfires that occurred in Nevada were started by target shooting, according to an official with the Carson City BLM District..

In 2013, 13 fires that burned on public lands within the Carson City BLM District were caused by humans, according to an official with the Carson City BLM District.
