UPDATE: The family of four will not be able to stay in their home Sunday night.

The fire spread to the back patio, forcing the overhang to fall and sever a power line, which started a brush fire along the fence of the neighbor's house. No other property was damaged.

TMFPD and Carson City Fire Department were able to knock out the fire in about 15 minutes. They say the cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

No person or pets were injured during the fire.
