SPARKS, NV - Sparks police have arrested a man they believe beat and sexually assaulted a woman.

Police say the victim was found on a Citifare bus March 29, 2014, severely battered and beaten.

She told sparks detectives she had been sexually assaulted, beaten with fists, hit with a frying pan, strangled, and had her mouth taped with duct tape.

The investigation indicates 44-year-old Randy Flores, an Arizona resident in Sparks about a week, contacted the victim at a homeless shelter and offered her a shower, food, and warm place to stay. Police served a search warrant in the 1900 block of Hymer and found evidence related to the attack.

Flores was booked at the Washoe County Jail for Sexual Assault, Kidnapping, Battery w/Substantial Bodily Injury, and Strangulation. He is being held with no bail.
