Argentinian Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Horse ID'd

TONOPAH, Nev. (AP) - Authorities have identified an Argentinian man who died after he collided with a horse during a motorcycle trip in rural Mineral County, Nev.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials say 29-year-old Marc Lanz of Buenos Aires died in the crash that happened a little before 7:30 p.m. Sunday. His 30-year-old passenger, Maria Ferrer, was injured.

Troopers say the two were leading a group of four motorcycles along U.S. Highway 6 outside Tonopah when a horse darted into the road.

Lanz was thrown from the bike and died at the scene. Ferrer was taken in an ambulance to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Her medical condition was unknown Tuesday morning.

Authorities say none of the other three motorcycles crashed. The horse was killed in the incident.
