3.16 Magnitude Quake Hits Carson

CARSON CITY, NV - A magnitude 3.16 (referred to on many quake sites at 3.2) earthquake hit three miles northeast of Carson City Monday evening. It was about six miles deep.

UNR's seismology lab reports it happened at 5:16PM, and KOLO 8 News Now has gotten dozens of reports from residents of Carson City and south Reno that they felt it.

Carson Sheriff Ken Furlong says he felt it, too, but says there are no reports of damage so far.

The UNR lab reports having computer problems that delayed the reporting of the quake, which as of an hour after the quake had led to no aftershocks.
