CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Nevada Rep. Mark Amodei is returning
$86,800 in unspent office operating funds to the U.S. Treasury to
be applied to the national debt.
The Republican from Carson City didn't take office until Sept.
15, after winning a special election to fill the seat left vacant
when former Rep. Dean Heller was appointed to the U.S. Senate.
Amodei says the amount he's returning represents 18 percent of
his prorated office budget for 2011.
