If you plan on buying mom a card for Mother's Day, you better make sure it is a nice one. This year, Americans will spend on average $152 dollars on their Mother's Day gifts. That is about $12 more than last year.
The National Retail Federation estimates that sons and daughters across the country will spend $18.6 billion.
In spite of economic uncertainty and high gas prices, Mother's Day spending has gone up every year since 2009.
If you are sending flowers on Sunday, you are not alone. About two thirds of consumers will also be buying flowers this year.
