TAHOE CITY, CA - A 24-year-old woman who worked at Alpine Meadows ski resort has died after a crash in the Tahoe back country.
Annalise Kjolhede was wearing a helmet, according to resort officials, but had head and neck injuries severe enough so that she was flown to Renown after the accident, which happened while she was skiing on Saturday, November 10. She died three days later.
The resort issued a statement: "Though she was part of our team but one season, Annalise was a valued member of Alpine Meadow’s Kids Ski School. Her outgoing personality, passion for working with kids and friendly nature will be remembered and missed by all of her friends and colleagues here at Squaw and Alpine. Her passing is a tragic loss for our team and community."
Alpine Meadows opens for public use December 7.
