Airport Construction Continues, But Loud Booms Should Be Done

RENO, NV - Late-night work at Reno's airport has changed course to the point where loud noises that have generated complaints should be over.

Spokesman Brian Kulpin says work is being done to replace the airport's longest runway, which has meant blasting concrete, sometimes late into the night. That blasting has led to numerous calls to the airport and KOLO 8 News Now about the noise.

Kulpin says the airport apologizes for disrupting people's sleep, and says while the construction project itself will go on, the concrete blasting is done, and any further noise should be at a much lower volume.
