RENO, Nev.—Reno secured a series split with Sacramento on Thursday night, following a 3-1 victory over the River Cats at Aces Ballpark.
Mike Jacobs’ hot streak continued, as the slugger drove in a run on an RBI double in the third, then added a solo shot in the seventh to extend Reno’s lead. He has now had a multi-hit game in five-straight contests for the Aces.
Reno starter Randall Delgado did not allow a hit through the first 4.1 innings of the game, before Hiroyuki Nakajima singled to right field in the top of the fifth. Delgado was charged with one earned run on two hits through 6.2 innings, while striking out a season high eight batters.
Reliever Chaz Roe walked Jemile Weeks to load the bases with two outs in the top of the ninth, but Grant Green struck out to end the game.
Delgado earned his first home win of the season for his effort, and Roe was credited with his second save.
Tomorrow Reno will travel to Tucson for a four-game series against the Padres. LHP Tyler Skaggs (4-5, 5.23 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while the Padres will counter with RHP Sean O’Sullivan (5-3, 3.74 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
