RENO, Nev.— The Reno Aces used a season-high 22 hits to secure a 12-2 blowout win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Thursday night at Aces Ballpark.

Every Aces fielder recorded a hit in the game, and seven recorded multi-hit games. The Aces’ 22 hits fell one shy of tying the highest single-game total in team history. Reno also hit a season-high three triples in the contest.

Blake Lalli hit an RBI-triple in the bottom of the second to get Reno on the board, and Mike Freeman followed it up with a double to drive home Lalli. It was Freeman’s first hit and first RBI in Triple-A, and it came in his first home at-bat for the Aces.

Reno added two more in the third inning, including another RBI by Freeman. He finished the night 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored.

The Aces went on to score in each of the next four innings, including two in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings.

Andy Marte was the last Aces player to get a hit in the game, and he made it count. With one on and one out in the bottom of the seventh, Marte connected with a pitch and drove it deep over the left field fence to cap the scoring on the night.

Alfredo Marte went 4-for-6 with a double and two runs scored. Danny Dorn and Blake Lalli each had three hits on the night and finished a home run shy of the cycle. Nick Ahmed, Mike Jacobs, Marte and Freeman all had two RBI on the night.

Zeke Spruill put in a solid start for Reno and got his third win of the season after allowing two runs on five hits. He also struck out seven and walked two in the game.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow night for game two of the four-game series at Aces Ballpark. Right-hander Mike Bolsinger (5-0, 1.90) will get the nod for Reno, and El Paso will counter with RHP Billy Buckner (3-2, 3.41). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
