Sun Valley Crash Sends 9 to Hospital

Nine people were injured during a head-on crash on Highland Ranch Parkway at Midnight Drive in Sun Valley.

The crash happened at 6:20 p.m Monday.

Washoe County Sheriff's Office says a total of nine people were transported to Renown Medical Center, six of those were children, 3 adults.

None of the passengers' injuries was life threatening.

Sheriff's investigators say a 2001 Honda Civic traveling west bound on Highland Ranch crossed the double yellow line striking an east bound 1992 Honda Accord.

Both drivers are cooperating say investigators.

Investigators say no drugs, alcohol, cell phone use or excessive speed played a role in the accident.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident call the Major Accident Investigative Team's David Bailey at 775-328-3350
