ABBAcadabra Heads to Hollywood

RENO, NV - They made a name for themselves here in Reno as "Gary & Sandy". Now these popular performers are headed to Hollywood for their first nationally televised performance. Gary Raffanelli took a chance on reviving the music of the band ABBA in a tribute show dubbed Abbacadabra. It turned out to be magic with local audiences.

"We'll walk out on the stage, we don't even play a note yet, and people are already standing and cheering," says Raffanelli. "Abba audiences are happy," adds partner Sandy Selby. "The show is a happy show, and the music, its just happy." After 43 years of performing together, Abbacadabra was the show that grabbed the attention of Hollywood producers creating a line up of the world's greatest tribute bands. 15 Groups will recreate the music of your favorite performers live from the Whiskey in West Hollywood. "It's cool, to be on the same stage that all these famous groups were on," says Raffanelli about performing at the club. "But more important, we're on it. We're on this stage."

For others looking to follow their dreams of performing, Raffanelli offers this advice. "Keep at it. Don't let people stop you. Don't let people who make fun of you discourage you, and don't be afraid to reinvent yourself!" The live Abbacadabra performance will be carried live on AXS TV March 31st. Check your local cable or dish provider to find out where AXS is on your channel line-up.
