No Red Carpet for Iranian President In New York City

It's been more like a barrage of rotten tomatoes, with tabloid headlines calling him "evil" and a "madman" ahead of his appearance today at Columbia University.

The New York Daily News' front page reads: "THE EVIL HAS
LANDED." The New York Post called Ahmadinejad the "Madman Iran
Prez" and a "guest of dishonor."

Columbia President Lee Bollinger has promised to grill Ahmadinejad on subjects such as human rights, the Holocaust and Iran's disputed nuclear program. The Iranian leader previously has called the Holocaust "a myth" and called for Israel to be destroyed.

The Iranian leader arrived to protests yesterday as he prepares to address the U.N. General Assembly tomorrow. He denies Iran has nuclear weapons ambitions or wants war with the U.S.
