Sun Valley Teen In Custody After Bus Stop Incident

A squabble on a Washoe County school bus apparently escalated after pupils arrived at their bus stop, landing a 15-year-old in custody.

School officials say the teenage Sun Valley boy is accused of
shooting a fellow Spanish Springs High School student with a pellet
gun.

School district spokesman Steve Mulvenon says the shooting was
September 14th at a bus stop in Sun Valley.

The boy was arrested Monday and taken to Wittenberg Hall.

The 14-year-old victim apparently was shot because he had been throwing papers at the older student as they rode home on a school
bus.

Mulvenon says the victim had red marks from the pellets but was not treated.

The older student is accused of battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds and disturbance of
school.
