Nevada Attorney General Brian Sandoval made his national debut with a speech to the Republican National Convention Wednesday.
Sandoval touted President Bush's tough on crime approach. He told the convention that as a parent of three he shares the President'’s goal of keeping America’s children safe, especially going after criminals who prey on kids and use the Internet to lure children into sex crimes.
Back in Nevada, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and U.S. Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Las Vegas question the Attorney Generals' support of the president in light of his approval of the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain.
A spokesman for the Attorney General's office says Sandoval's speech at the Republican Convention in no way deminishes his fight against the repository.
Sandoval was the only Nevada Republican to speak at the convention.
