Officers responded to the complex Sunday night around 11:30. The initial call was for a domestic disturbance, but quickly became a homicide.

Upon arrival, police say the victim was found struggling for his life outside the apartment complex. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man, but could not.

Police say he was stabbed to death, but weren't sure whether the crime took place inside or outside of the apartment.

Investigators have not yet nailed down a suspect, nor a motive for the killing...but witnesses say the victim had lived in the complex with a girlfriend for about two weeks.

"That information comes from witnesses who heard a disturbance between a male and a female. he lives with a girlfriend there, so the assumption is it may be a domestic-related event. there is a possibility it's not. it's too early to say one way or the other," said Lieutenant Bob McDonald of the Reno Police Department.

Police say they have not yet been able to contact the victim's girlfriend, but that she is a "person of interest" they are looking for. She has not been labeled as a suspect yet, but investigators would like to interview her.

If you have any information, they are urging you to call the Reno Police Department or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
