The EPA fined the Fallon-based HFI Enterprises $2,000 after state agriculture inspectors found canceled insecticides on the shelves of its stores in Fallon and Lovelock in August 2006. The federal agency also announced this week it recently reached a settlement with a True Value Hardware store in Reno's North Valleys to pay a $2,750 fine for selling a
residential pesticide with a banned chemical back in 2004.
