The West Nile Virus has now spread to Nevada's *wild horse population.
The state agriculture department confirms one horse has died from the disease.
We know that 30-percent of unvaccinated horses can die from West Nile. Projections for Nevada's wild horse population indicate about 10-percent could be lost to West Nile.
State agriculture department officials have warned once West Nile came to Nevada, the wild horse population would certainly not be immune.
While there is a vaccine, logistically and economically its impossible to innoculate the wild horse population here, the largest in the country at about 30-thousand.
