Police have arrested a 19-year-old man wanted in a gang-related shooting death in Sparks.
The Regional Gang Unit was told that 19-year-old Luis Puga was
in a motel room on North McCarran Boulevard. Along with Sparks
police, the officers set up a perimeter and evacuated people from
several nearby rooms.
Luca was arrested when he left the motel room.
He was wanted in the August 15th shooting death of 19-year-old
Juan Duenas.
Police said the victim was driving down Sullivan Lane when a man
on foot flashed him some gang signals. Duenas was shot in the
abdomen when he got out of his vehicle to confront the man. He died
a short time later.
Puga is being held without bail on an open murder charge.
