Specialized and hi-tech equipment is being used to aid the search for missing adventurer and aviator Steve Fossett.

Kolo-8 was given the opportunity to take a peek and can give you a bird's eye look.

The attached to this story is taken from inside the cockpit of a c-130, flying 15-thousand feet in the air.

The Nevada Air Guard is using a stage view video platform, a system that utilizes several cameras and frequencies.

Live video is collected and later analyzed to determine if certain areas need another look.

Guard officials say this equipment will help in locating the famed aviator faster by narrowing down the search area.

The guard doesn’t t normally use this special equipment, in civilian searches.

The video platform was originally developed to be used in combat or natural disasters proving helpful in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
