Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Reno

A man wanted by police in Madera, California for robbery.. kidnapping and attempted murder.. has been arrested tonight at the MacGregor Inn on 6th Street.
Authorities say.35-year-old Patrick Joseph Booth and another man terrorized a Madera family for 24-hours
According to the Madera County Sheriff's Department. Booth tied the family up.. beat the father with a baseball bat.. injected his 13-year old son with methamphetamine.. and held the family hostage on July 18th.
The crime was so heinous.. it caught the attention of the television show "America's Most Wanted".
But police didn't need that program's help. Booth was arrested tonight before the show aired.
Patrick Booth was arrested at the MacGregor Inn just before 7 o'clock.
People we talked to who live here say.. they believe Booth has lived here for a few months
The arrest came after Reno Police received a call from the Madera Sheriff's Department.. saying a fugitive was staying at the MacGregor Inn.
Sergeant Dreelan says.. Booth was living here with his wife and two small children.
This is the home in Madera, California where investigators say.. Booth and another man committed the crimes.
They say.. after beating the father.. and injecting meth into the son.. the family was locked inside a small bathroom for 24 hours before the wife escaped and called for help.
According to the Madera County Sheriff.. Booth was identified through WalMart surveillance video.. after a WalMart receipt was found in a shopping bag left in the SUV stolen from the family.
A thumbprint on the bag lead to a positive identification.
Reno Police say.. Booth did not resist arrest.. but he *did* misrepresent himself.
According to the Madera Sheriff's Department.. Booth has a criminal record in half a dozen states.. including Nevada and California.
Police say.. Booth also had a probation warrant out of Carson City.
He'll likely be extradited to Madera County.
