U.S. Sen. Chris Dodd came to Las Vegas today to thank firefighters for backing his long-shot presidential bid.
The Democrat from Connecticut told about 75 firefighters gathered at a union hall in Las Vegas that he would need their help to fuel a campaign that has been overshadowed by celebrity candidates.
The campaign stop in Las Vegas was the last on a tour launched after Dodd won the endorsement of the International Association of Firefighters earlier this week.
The senator met with firefighters in three early primary states with the hopes of building momentum.
The 281-thousand member union says it has 2,500 members in Nevada.
The senator held a similar event in Reno earlier in the day.
