Reno Dry Spell Ends - Barely

Thursday's rain was enough to end Reno's 85-day dry streak.

But not by much.

Officially, 0.01 inch of rain was recorded at Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

That's the smallest amount that is recorded by the National Weather Service.

The last time it rained was June 5, when 0.05 inch fell.

Forecasters said the dry streak is the seventh longest since record keeping began in 1906.

The longest stretch without rain was 129 days in 1995.
