People pushing for safety changes through Pleasant Valley are seeing signs of progress as drivers are seeing new safety signs.
Children in Pleasant Valley have been making signs asking drivers on Highway 395 south of Reno to slow down.
The group "Highway 395 South Safety Movement" has been asking the Nevada Department of Transportation to install a traffic light and several other safety improvements.
Today it heard that N-DOT is taking that request seriously.
According to Highway 395 South Safety Movement founder David Jones: "They've gained a bad reputation out here. We feel they've been condescending to us in the past, but it looks like that attitude's going to change--between us both."
N-DOT officials tell Jones they've begun a safety audit of that stretch of the highway...and we could see some improvements within the next two months.
